The altar worker ministry's purpose is to assist leadership in sustaining order in the house during times of altar calls, and to assist congregants as they encounter God and His presence.

Goals of Altar Work

• Provide a comfortable, secure atmosphere by conveying a pleasant demeanor and a professional appearance.
• Seek to discover the person’s need, doing so with gentleness, tact, and respect. Never push for details.
• Be specific in prayer with the needy individual, while displaying a sincere desire to intercede.

Many people “grew up” going to Sunday School. It’s a place to learn about God and His love for us. The Tunapuna Abundant Life Ministries Christian Education continues in this tradition, but expands it to encompass not just those who have long attended but to encourage those who have not to come out and discover the exciting things that are happening in Christian Education.

Christian Education is part of the teaching arm of the church. Under the guidance of the Christian Education Superintendant, Christian Education’s purpose is to train, equip and motivate people and to nurture their spiritual growth.

Purpose

The Helping-Hands Ministry is to provide general and specific maintenance at our physical church location for conditions not specifically maintained by the property management of the building (such as adjustments and/or repair of plumbing, electrical, and paint components as would be common with normal use).

Projects might include assembly and/or relocation of shelving, cabinetry, tables, and décor within the church property. Most commonly, moving chairs and setting out tables for monthly outreach lunches or for special events. The Tunapuna Abundant Life Hospitality Ministry truly demonstrates Christian service, as written in Colossians 3:23- “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.” Each member of the ministry firmly holds to scriptures that provide the foundation for its work.

The Praise & Worship Ministry is a team of believers that are called not only to worship the Lord Jesus Christ but to facilitate the worship experience, and carry the burden of the worship life of Tunapuna Abundant Life Ministries.

The Praise & Worship team exists to minister to the Lord through praise and worship, to encourage and lead the congregation into the presence of the Lord, and to facilitate and create an atmosphere where the presence of the Lord can dwell. The Atoma Youth Ministry, was created by the youths of the Tunapuna Abundant Life Ministries who wanted to get together to serve the Lord in a fun and creative way. They have always had the passion of ministering the Word of God through song, dance and drama.

Greeting people in a warm way makes them feel good about their presence in church.

The concept of an Usher is not new. In the Old Testament, there were positions addressed as “Doorkeeprs” or “Gatekeepers” and their roles were very similar.

Jesus' disciples can be considered ushers in the sense that they prepared the way for Jesus, kept order among those listening to Christ, served food to the audience, and cleaned up after a service, such as in “the feeding of the five thousand”.
