Helping Hands Ministry

Purpose

The Helping-Hands Ministry is to provide general and specific maintenance at our physical church location for conditions not specifically maintained by the property management of the building (such as adjustments and/or repair of plumbing, electrical, and paint components as would be common with normal use).

Projects might include assembly and/or relocation of shelving, cabinetry, tables, and décor within the church property. Most commonly, moving chairs and setting out tables for monthly outreach lunches or for special events. Less frequent projects might involve jobs such as furniture repair and construct and/or assemble of props necessary for presentations. In the event unusual funds, components, and/or special tradesmen are required, the Helping-Hands Ministry leaders will discuss foreseen needs and viable options with church leadership who will make final decisions as necessary.

Petitions

Less physical, but just as important, we need your prayers. We ask that you pray for safety, guidance, and quality in all things related to the Helping-Hands Ministry. We additionally ask that you pray and seek God’s will for how you may be able to help. You don’t need to be a master craftsman to serve the Lord, only an earnest heart and willing servant.

Ways to be involved

Our long term vision involves reaching outside of these walls. When a special need arises of a member or their family, we would like volunteers to be available for things such as helping at the home of a member with a broken leg; helping trim a fallen tree; install a safety bar in an elderly or injured member’s shower. In many special projects, we will communicate and coordinate with the Tunapuna Abundant Life Ministries’ Leadership.

From you, our church family, we need volunteers for any given project, and we need input from the teachers and others to inform us if you see something that may require attention; whether it is in the Church building, or a special project idea for a member of our church or local community.

As a critical part of Christ’s community inside and outside of this building; our mindset should not be “That’s not my job”, but rather, “How can I help.”
